College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC)
About
The College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC) regulates three professions in the public interest under the Health Professions Act and related regulations, as well as the CSHBC bylaws and policies. Our registrants include:
- Audiologists
- Hearing instrument practitioners
- Speech-language pathologists
CSHBC sets requirements to practice; establishes, monitors, and enforces standards of conduct and for the provision of care and services; establishes and monitors the quality assurance programs for registrants including the requirements for continuing education; investigates complaints; and where necessary takes disciplinary action when registrants fail to live up to their professional standards obligations.
CSHBC is funded entirely by registration fees paid by the professionals it regulates. The Board is comprised of eight elected professionals and four public representatives appointed by the Government of British Columbia.
