STBCAB – Skilled Trades BC Appeal Board

About

The Skilled Trades BC Appeal Board (STBCAB) was created under the Industry Training Authority Act. The mission of ITAB is to provide individuals affected by decisions of the Industry Training Authority (ITA) and authorized training institutions with reasonable access to a timely and responsive process for review that results in fair and impartial appeal decisions. The STBCAB It is authorized to hear appeals under section 10 of the Act regarding:

  • Refusal to award an industry training credential or industry training recognition credential.
  • Suspension or cancellation of an industry training credential or industry training recognition credential.
  • Refusal to register an individual as a trainee; the cancellation of the registration of an individual as a trainee, and the revocation of, or cancellation of the registration of, an industry training agreement.

Decisions made under the Act must balance the need to meet industry training needs and standards and the need to ensure fair process for individual trainees.
