For a phone,video, or in person, the adjudicator may make a decision by giving an oral decision at the end of the hearing and tell you how the matter has been decided. If this is the case, be sure to take careful notes. Alternatively, the adjudicator may tell you that they will make a decision later and the tribunal registry will mail a written decision to you. If your hearing was in writing, the tribunal will send you the adjudicator’s decision, with written reasons. Due to the heavy volume of cases to review, it may be several months before you receive the decision.
If you don’t agree with the adjudicator’s decision in your case, you can sometimes have the decision reviewed. Learn more in the section Appealing Decisions.
